Holidays are great and they’re often defined by wonderful experiences: fun, travel, beaches, forests, mountains, restaurants.
But the problem with every holiday and every pleasurable experience is that they all come to an end.
No matter how good an experience something is - it always ends. Now this can make us a bit sad and then maybe seek more experiences but then we can end up.
The Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes poetically describes - chasing after the wind.
Living for experiences alone can end up feeling hollow. This is why we need to base and define our life on something more than holidays and experiences and why Jesus is worth trusting. For he promises to always be with us and be an anchor in our lives.
